What is a workshop?

A workshop is a training event that emphasizes practical work. The word translates from English as "workshop" or "studio." The main characteristic of this format is that participants gain knowledge through practice while being guided by an experienced mentor. The theoretical part takes minimal time, after which knowledge is immediately reinforced through practical tasks.

The master leading the workshop aims to unobtrusively guide participants, allowing them to work independently and experiment. They demonstrate their expertise and serve as an example, but do not control or correct students if they act on their own. Each session is dedicated to a specific topic and has a clearly defined task. For example, if the workshop is aimed at illustrators, participants may work on the same task, but each in their own way, using different styles and techniques.

Why are workshops used?

The key objectives of a workshop are to exchange experiences, acquire new knowledge, engage in creativity, and seek fresh ideas. Participants in such meetings can be both professionals and amateurs. For example, if the workshop is for photographers, the organizer might rent a studio and hire models. It is important for participants to leave with finished products and new knowledge that they can apply in practice.
