Friends, you often ask how to set up automatic publishing in Zen?

This option is available! Currently, automatic publishing in Zen can be set up through the official bot from your Telegram channel. At the moment, this is the only way to automate publications, as Yandex has not yet offered a direct integration.

We are monitoring the updates, and as soon as the option for direct integration becomes available, we will definitely include this feature in our service. But this does not prevent you from setting up a publication with the help of the bot now.

How does it work?

  • You schedule publications in the Telegram channel through our service.
  • The bot automatically transfers the posts from Telegram to Zen.

Let's go through step by step how to set this up.

Zen Requirements

  • The Telegram channel must be public (private channels are not supported).
  • Only one Telegram channel can be linked to a Zen channel (and vice versa).

Publishing Features

When you set up automatic publishing from the Telegram channel to Zen via the official bot, it is crucial to consider several key points that affect the final appearance of the materials.

Firstly, the system uses the first sentence from your Telegram post as the article title, ensuring that it is no longer than 140 characters (including spaces), otherwise, the text will be cut off. Secondly, the first image attached to the post is automatically taken for the cover.

Also note that all text formatting (bold, italic, lists, quotes) from Telegram is not preserved. In Zen, the text appears as a continuous block without highlights. Regarding media files: Images and videos up to 20 MB are supported (for videos, this is usually about 1-2 minutes in average quality) — anything beyond this limit simply will not be uploaded.

Set up Crossposting (Step-by-Step Guide)

Step 1. Open and start the bot

  1. Go to Telegram and search for the bot: @zen_sync_bot.
  2. Press "Start".

Step 2. Get an access code in Zen

  1. Open Zen and go to the studio.
  2. Go to "Settings".
  3. Select "Crossposting" (in the menu on the left).
  4. Press "Telegram" → "Get access code".
  5. Copy the code (it is valid for 30 minutes).

Step 3. Enter the code into the bot

  1. Go back to the dialog with @zen_sync_bot.
  2. Send the copied code.

Step 4. Add the bot to the administrators of the Telegram channel

  1. Open your Telegram channel.
  2. Go to the channel settings, select "Administrators" and "Add administrator".
  3. Search for @zen_sync_bot (or enter zen_sync_bot).
  4. Press "Save".

Step 5. Send the channel link to the bot

  1. Copy the Telegram channel link.
  2. Send the link in the dialog with @zen_sync_bot.

Done! Now all posts from Telegram will be automatically published in Zen.

How to change the connected channel?

If you want to connect another channel, enter the command in the bot: /restart. This will reset the settings, and you can start the process again.

How to disable crossposting?

  1. Open the Telegram channel.
  2. Go to the channel settings, then to "Administrators".
  3. Search for @zen_sync_bot and press "Remove".

Now posts will no longer be transferred to Zen.

Try it out — it’s really convenient!
